FireTies® was established and Trademarked in 1996 following extensive research into making concrete tilt up buildings safe by minimising the likelihood of the outward collapse of the external concrete walls during a fire.

FireTies® deformable brackets can be retrofitted to any new or existing tilt-up building. Not only is the size and shape critically important to the performance of FireTies® deformable brackets but their connection to the concrete panels and/or steel columns is equally important as the tie has to function at very high temperatures and deform accordingly without detaching from the panel or the support.

When fixed in accordance with recommendations and specifications
FireTies® deformable brackets are a ‘deemed to satisfy’ method of complying with Clause C1.11 of the BCA and AS3850 to meet Australian Standards – Tilt-up Concrete Construction – Australian Standard.

Designed structure for standard loadings, the Structural Design Engineer is required to design a tilt-up building for fire and consider the behaviour of the building under fire conditions.
The issuing of a Compliance Certificate for the building design by the Structural Design Engineer states that the building and structure complies with the provisions of the BCA and in particular for tilt-up buildings this means the design complies with the requirements of clause C1.11.
